Three Questions

A client called today and asked the following question and wanted three answers.

"What are the most surprising things you saw / experienced / or that happened this year in employment?"

After a thoughtful pause, I answered.

1) I am still amazed that in 2013, there are so many employers who recruit like it's the 1990s using PDFs, faxes, and mailing of applications.  There are so many technological advances - mainly the simple fact that you can apply on-line - that make it so much easier for employers to apply to work for you.

2) People are still interested in these seasonal jobs we offer.  They want the adventure.  They want to experience new places.  And, honestly, they really don't care about the money.  Sure, they want to be paid, but it's about living life.

3) The last thing I though of was that people still think that is HUGE.  Maybe in our minds we are. ;-)  We are a team of seven.  A mighty team for sure, but we certainly don't work in a skyscraper.  We work out of our homes, love our pets and our respective sweeties.  We definitely have a great love for our fans to find the jobs of their dreams.  If that makes us big in our fans' eyes, well, so be it.

Anything surprise you this year?  Feel free to share.

In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!

Employee Morale Importance
