"Dancing with the Staffing Stars" - DRA Bingo :)

Kathi and I are attending the Dude Rancher's Association 85th Annual Convention at the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, Arizona :)
We're here to connect with Ranches and work with them to understand what CoolWorks is all about .... and more than that. We're here to understand them better so the work we do with them and for them makes sense.
Tomorrow we're facilitating three round table discussions ..... and we're excited to have an interactive format that's fun and fresh and educational :) If each participant leaves with a "golden nugget" that they can take back to their property, that will be a measure of success.
Being part of the CoolWorks' team is a dream job in and of itself. Being able to shed light on challenges and processes and technology and efficiencies ..... with our amazing and diverse clientele .... is what we love the most.
For the DRA, we're playing "Dancing with the Staffing Stars" Bingo ...... we pose a question or statement and have the Ranch participants answer yes or no, agree or disagree ..... and they collect stars for their responses. Bingo comes as stars mount up.

CoolWorks.com selected as a WEDDLE'S User's Choice Award Winner for 2011

We at CoolWorks.com were pretty excited when we heard from Peter Weddle that CoolWorks.com was selected to receive one of WEDDLE’s 2011 User’s Choice Awards, which recognizes the best sites for job seekers and recruiters. Below you will find the press release and other job websites selected.

• 20 are niche sites that specialize in a particular career field, industry, geographic location or personal attribute. This is one more than in 2010.

• 10 are all-purpose sites that serve job seekers and employers in a wide range of professions, crafts, trades and industries. This is one less than in 2010.

• Among the niche sites, 6 focus on healthcare (up 50% from 2010), 2 serve recent college graduates and/or alumni (down 33% from 2010), and 3 specialize in senior level workers (unchanged from 2010).

• Also among the niche sites, 6 industries are represented: healthcare, retail, information technology/systems, hospitality, environmental and higher education. Environmental and higher education are new, replacing staffing and logistics on the 2010 list.

Why tribes will change the world - Seth Godin

It's been a while, and I have many a good reason for my absence, and perhaps someday I'll share them. Right now, I hope you'll enjoy 18 minutes thinking about how you as HR managers can be leaders of your local tribes in the national parks. I am a leader of our My CoolWorks tribe and I cherish the role. We DO have a dedicated tribe and many who truly believe in the benefits of doing seasonal work. These folks are applying to work for you RIGHT NOW. Be their leaders. Invite them into YOUR world. Help lead your own movements where you are.
