Wow, readers - hoping some of you are still out there - where did summer go? Perhaps I was so melancholy by the departure of Punk Rock HR, I couldn't bring myself to post. Or maybe, I've been reading up on The Cynical Girl and haven't had the time. Anyhow, sorry for the lack of posts.
It's hard to believe that it's almost fall and the summer season is coming to a close. Many members of the "tribe" on My CoolWorks, of which there are over 5000 now, have begun the countdown to the end of their seasons. Many are looking ahead to mini-breaks / vacations before they start school or a new job for the fall or winter. I must admit that it's fun for us to have the tribe engaged with us again since they've been so busy with you all summer. I hope that as HR folks, you've also had a good summer and are ready for the lull before it starts back up again. I'm sure right now is a crazy time of paperwork and goodbyes (some sad, some overdue) so may you find little moments where you can catch your breath.
A quote to go out on and hopefully a nice close to the summer.
"When you are at sea you know you must reach harbor, to restock and hope, rest in a warm caress. You need ports and often can't wait to get to the next. Then when you are in port, you can't wait to get back to the sea again.... You need mother earth, but you love the sea." - Steve CallahanHappy September, folks!
